Four contenders line up in Americas title race

The Americas could finally see an exciting title race. After two seasons of dominant title wins by Brasilia, with the crown essentially sewn up by mid-season, this season is panning out differently.
In addition to Brasilia, three teams look strong in a title challenge — Las Vegas, Santiago and Houston. They’re all in the current top four of the division, separated by a slither of point differential. Vegas is top and has been the particular standout, led by its two impressive strikers. Petrov is currently valued at 7.5m and is on his way to becoming one of the top strikers in the world.
Analysts question whether Vegas’ young squad can sustain a title challenge, but the club has the firepower and a solid GK to compete against most teams.
Santiago is probably the biggest outsider of the four, but the club has been steadily developed by long-time manager Diane. The standout star at the club is Mapou, a 7m defender that is looking like one of the best defensive talents in the region at only 25yo. Santiago is on the verge of an exit from the Wes Cup following a 6-0 embarrassing rout by Liverpool, so fans expect the club to up its performances in both the league and the regional cup.
In the near term, all four clubs are due to play each other, so we’re going to see how they stack up. The likelihood is that this season is going down to the wire.
